Founded in 1968

From a farmers' movement to a cooperative institution

Established in 1968 under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960, the factory came into being through the determined efforts of the late Freedom Fighter Kisan Mahadev Veer (Abasaheb Veer), a respected leader from Wai Taluka. His vision gave rise to a cooperative institution that empowered farmers and transformed rural livelihoods.

The establishment of Kisanveer Karkhana was the outcome of a historic farmers' movement in Wai — a movement that emphasized unity, self-reliance, and prosperity for agriculturists. Built on these values, the factory has consistently worked to ensure fair opportunities for sugarcane growers while driving socio-economic development across the region.
